Wolseley Centre The Wolseley Centre is the headquarters and visitor centre of Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. Inside the building you will find: Shop Visitor centre Toilets Conference room Education rooms The building itself is built on the footprint of the former stable block and coach house which were part of Wolseley Hall (see History for more details). We have tried to be as environmentally friendly as possible with the construction and renovations. The walls and roof incorporate insulation made from recycled paper, the offices upstairs are fitted with small windows to reduce heat loss and energy saving light bulbs are used throughout. On the front of the roof solar panels are fitted which generate our own electricity, there is also a solar powered water heater which provides hot water for the workshop and staff washroom. At the rear of the building is a reedbed, this treats and cleans all of the waste water before letting it flow into the brook. We are hoping all of these environmental features will help us achieve eco-centre status, this is an award given to visitor centres for demonstrating excellence in protecting the environment.
